STRIVE students proudly hosted a Trunk or Treat community event as part of National Lights On Afterschool, joining thousands of programs nationwide in celebrating the importance of afterschool opportunities for youth. The event brought together families, students, and community members for a fun, safe, and engaging evening that highlighted creativity, connection, and positive youth leadership. STRIVE students took the lead in planning and hosting the experience, transforming the event into a festive and welcoming space for all ages.

Through hands-on involvement, STRIVE students strengthened skills in event coordination, communication, teamwork, and community engagement, core elements of STRIVE’s pipeline approach to youth development. By hosting Trunk or Treat as part of Lights On Afterschool, students not only created a memorable experience for the community, but also demonstrated how afterschool programs serve as critical spaces for learning, creativity, and belonging.

STRIVE is proud to continue empowering youth to lead, serve, and shine through experiences that connect fun with purpose and skill building.
