The STRIVE Initiative is proud to spotlight our Multimedia Career Exploration Awards, honoring students who demonstrated year-long commitment, creativity, and leadership through hands-on, real-world experiences. Throughout the school year and summer, STRIVE students actively engaged in podcast production, photography, and DJing while applying their skills at meaningful community events.
Youth DJs supported The Pottstown FARM farmers market, providing live music and community energy, and played a key role in Play Streets, a community initiative in partnership with the Borough of Pottstown that centers youth voice, civic pride, and neighborhood connection. Students also documented local events through photography and podcasting, and supported school dances, pep rallies, summer showcases, and Juneteenth celebrations, gaining authentic exposure to creative careers in action.
To celebrate their dedication and encourage continued growth, students received Multimedia Career Exploration Gift Cards to invest in continuing education materials aligned with their chosen career pathways. These awards allow youth to purchase equipment, software, training resources, and educational tools that extend learning beyond STRIVE programming.
By reinvesting directly in students’ creative development, The STRIVE Initiative continues to build a sustainable pipeline from exploration to workforce readiness, empowering young people to turn creative interests into long-term opportunities while remaining rooted in service to their community.
