Ten students from The STRIVE Initiative recently completed a week-long Build a PC Program, gaining hands-on experience assembling fully functional desktop computers from the ground up. Throughout the program, students explored core STEM concepts, learned how individual computer components work together, and developed practical problem solving and technical skills. At the conclusion of the week, each student was able to take home the computer they built, an empowering outcome that supports both continued learning and digital access beyond the classroom.
This partnership was a natural fit for STRIVE, as it directly aligns with the organization’s Multimedia Career Exploration Program, which emphasizes hands-on learning, technology exposure, and real-world skill development. By engaging directly with hardware and technology, students were able to connect classroom concepts to tangible outcomes while building confidence in STEM related pathways.
Experiences like the Build a PC Program reinforce STRIVE’s commitment to preparing youth for future careers in technology, multimedia, and creative industries through immersive and meaningful opportunities.
