STRIVE students played a meaningful role in both this year and last year’s Juneteenth celebrations in downtown Pottstown, contributing their talents to the Juneteenth Street Fair along High Street through live DJing and student-led podcasting. Across both years, students used music and media as tools for community connection, creating an energetic, inclusive atmosphere while gaining real world experience in event production, audio engineering, and public engagement.
Building on that momentum, STRIVE students expanded their impact this year by also DJing the Juneteenth Pageant at Pottstown High School. Students demonstrated professionalism, leadership, and cultural pride while honoring the significance of Juneteenth.
These experiences reflect STRIVE’s commitment to sustained pipeline programs that empower youth to develop creative, technical, and career ready skills, while giving back to the community they call home.
