STRIVE students recently experienced an unforgettable night of college athletics and mentorship while attending a Villanova basketball game at Villanova University. The outing provided students with an inside look at the excitement, discipline, and community surrounding Division I athletics, while exposing them to the broader culture of higher education. For many students, the experience went beyond the game itself—sparking conversations about college pathways, teamwork, leadership, and the value of perseverance both on and off the court.
The experience was made even more impactful through engagement with Howard Brown, a former member of the Villanova Basketball team, who shared insights on personal growth, education, and community development. Through meaningful dialogue and real life examples, STRIVE students were encouraged to envision future possibilities and understand how discipline, mentorship, and opportunity intersect.
This experience aligns with STRIVE’s mission to expose youth to transformative opportunities that connect inspiration, education, and real world success through its ongoing pipeline programs.
