STRIVE provided Pottstown High School students with a powerful, day-long educational experience through a charter bus field trip to New York City, where students visited the Brooklyn Public Library to experience the acclaimed Book of HOV exhibit. The immersive exhibit, which celebrates the life, artistry, and cultural impact of Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter, allowed students to explore music, literature, entrepreneurship, and storytelling through a lens that connects culture with creativity and purpose.

The trip aligned directly with STRIVE’s mission to expose students to transformative learning experiences beyond the classroom, where culture, education, and career exploration intersect. Through guided exploration and reflection, students engaged with themes of authorship, ownership, resilience, and self-expression, reinforcing how creative voices can shape identity and opportunity.

This NYC field trip exemplifies STRIVE’s pipeline approach: connecting students to real world environments that inspire critical thinking, cultural awareness, and future-focused ambition.
