STRIVE and its Created for Greatness mentoring program seek to support and prepare all of Pottstown’s middle school students for success throughout high school, while also being mindful of the disproportionate outcomes facing students of color.

Our Programs
Multimedia Career Exploration
STRIVE’s MultiMedia Career Exploration program gives Pottstown students a creative outlet and the chance to work with the tools and technology in developing multimedia and other content. Our students have a chance to engage in hands-on learning, developing both their creative expression and their technical skills under the guidance of experienced mentors.
Created for Greatness
The Created For Greatness mentoring program launched in the 2018-19 school year when 6 STRIVE mentors began joining Pottstown middle school students at lunchroom tables several days a week to start building connections. In January 2019, the program added 24 additional trained and screened mentors, bringing the total to 30.
Community Conversations
Community Conversations are a series of events STRIVE hosts to engage the community in dialogue to facilitate connections to bring about positive change. These events are designed to empower community voice, develop relationships, enable collaboration, and increase social capital of area residents – empowering them to take ownership of creating constructive change in our community.
World Mentor
The World Mentor Program connects students across Pottstown Middle School with mentors to help them realize their individual aspirations. This program creates a connection between minority professionals with diverse career and life experiences with students to broaden their horizons, challenge cultural norms and showcase successful minority role models.
Workshops
Created for Greatness Healthy Relationships & Life Skills Workshop program serves middle and high school students in the greater Philadelphia area. Healthy Relationships & Life Skills Workshop program aims to equip local youth with the knowledge and skills to make positive decisions regarding their relationships, attitudes, and behaviors.
