Whitney Moyer was raised in a non-traditional family and without a stable home. Her family was often homeless or living in shelters and over the course of her K-12 education, Whitney attended 5 different school districts throughout Bucks and Montgomery County, PA.

During Whitney’s sophomore year of high school, she was placed in foster care. While in an unfamiliar home and attending a new high school, Whitney maintained her academics with high grades and took on a part-time job. She became pregnant at the age of 17 and accepted an opportunity to participate in an independent living program. That same year, she secured an apartment, her GED, and a full-time job. She and her daughter emancipated in 2005. A hard-working and deeply focused person, Whitney purchased her first home in Pottstown the following year.

In Pottstown, Whitney was immediately embraced by the community and met lifelong friends and family who have guided her in her personal and professional growth over the past 15 years. This is part of the reason she is so dedicated to Pottstown and to the STRIVE Initiative.

With her own childhood experience, and now, a wife and mother of four, residing in Boyertown, Whitney knows firsthand the disparities our children face every day. Whitney envisions a world where children have equitable educational resources, professional mentors, and emotional support to navigate life’s challenges and to break down the barriers that prevent them from reaching their true potential.

Today, Whitney works as a Financial Accountant, with an aspiration to obtain her CPA and start her own business. She has a 15-year history of working in the legal, marine, and aerospace industries. In addition to her financial expertise, Whitney is also skilled in management, strategic planning, continuous improvement, team building, and networking. She holds an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree focused in Accounting from Reading Area Community College and is continuing her education at Penn State University World Campus where she is working towards a Bachelors Degree.

Her hobbies include concerts, traveling, reading, soccer, interior design, and fashion.
